Good News! I am finally done loading all emails into a spreadsheet and sent a welcome email to everyone. I sent out 466 emails, but unfortunately received 70+ emails back. Either I couldn't read them or something was wrong with the email. If you know anyone who came, gave their email, but didn't receive a welcome email please pass this website on. After counting all signatures on our guest registry we had 626 names! Of course we can guess not every signed the sheet. I am still going to estimate we had 1000+ in attendance!
Let's keep the momentum going!!!
Please read the email below from a fellow tea party organizer. There are some great ideas out there. We need to get together and decide what our next event will be and when.
All,
With all the discussions around next steps, I’d like to offer a suggestion. The local organizers in Ohio (Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland, Marysville, Ashland, Medina and more) have joined forced in favor of a single statewide rally in Columbus on July 4th. The theme of the event will be state sovereignty. We drew over 30k across Ohio on a cold, rainy work day, and I think 50k+ in Columbus is a reasonable number to expect on a holiday weekend. We’re looking at venues now and we’re considering either the Ohio Fairgrounds, the Ohio Expo Center, or Ohio Stadium (OSU Buckeyes).
Our goal is to make it a family friendly event because of the holiday and something lasting a good chunk of the day so people can come and go. The working title is Ohio Tea Fest 2009.
Please let me know your thoughts. I think the spectacle of 50 states congregating in their capitals on Independence Day will be a powerful message that cannot be ignored. It would also be a prelude for us if we continue building towards a potential march on Washington DC (Sept 12?).
Best Regards,
Mike Wilson

Hello! The Springfield Tea Party was a great success! I think around 1000 people showed up and we had great speakers. I am currently working diligently to enter the emails of all the people that signed up! Please stay tuned, there will be more to come.
*** NOTE- I have been slowly working to get emails out to everyone that signed up. I am unable to read quite a few of the addresses people wrote down. If you know someone that was at the rally and they have not yet received an email from me please pass this website on to them!

Full WSJ Story: More States Look to Raise Taxes
On April 15, I attended the Tax Day Tea Party in Springfield, giving encouragement to citizens rallying against out of control federal spending.
In 1773, Samuel Adams, a leading organizer of the Boston Tea Party said, “It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.” Outraged Americans today are doing just that. All across the country, citizens like you are standing up and speaking out in opposition to the new administration’s corporate bailouts, unbridled spending, and unending debt.
The same spirit that drove patriots to hurl tea into Boston Harbor two centuries ago lives on in modern day Tea Parties. I was pleased to attend one of these rallies in Springfield on April 15. Like many in attendance, my fiscal philosophy has always been one of less spending, lower taxes, and more personal freedom. That’s why I have voted against tax increases, against the bailouts, against the so-called stimulus, and will continue to say no.
Today's Tea Parties exemplify what's great about the United States: citizens gathering peacefully to express their dissatisfaction with their government. I join them in saying no to outrageous spending and never ending debt.
If you missed the video we posted last week about CNN's hate speech, go watch it here.
The response to that post, as well as an e-mail blast we did, has been tremendous. In fact, the response to the CNN hate speech has been second in scale to only the Tea Party Event itself.
With this in mind, we're strongly considering a national campaign to demand the Chicago reporter be fired. We will also consider a demand for apology from CNN for its clear hate speech against the Tea Party Movement.
We want to know what you think before we do this, though. Please visit the new Tea Party homepage and vote in the poll.
